About The Photography

The Photography is the original work of Shawn Strain.  The works are comprised of both digital and traditional 35mm format.  In the future there will potentially be experiments with other forms of imaging, such as using a scanner to capture various images that represent Macro Photography.

The Logo

Our Logo is a silhouette we created from a picture of Bear 264 taken in the spring of 1999.  Who is Bear 264 you ask?  Bear 264 is noted as Yellowstone's most famous bear.  Bear #264 was the featured bear in the Animal Planet episode “Seasons of the Grizzly”.  Bear 264 was a 12-year-old female grizzly bear that park managers described as a "roadside corridor bear".  This means she had adapted to life next to the busy roadways.  This provides a lot of opportunity for tourists and Photographers but created traffic jams in the park known as "bear jams".  These bear jams can create uncertain futures for bear 264 and others that choose to display their amusing antics in the close public eye.  So please remember, when you are out in the wild you may very well determine the future of bear 264 or another animal. NEVER APPROACH OR FEED wildlife. This is the worst thing you can do for their future and may put your own future in jeopardy, if the animal decides you appear harmful or look like a tasty snack.

*At about 6:30 PM on Saturday June 14, 2003, Bear 264 was struck by a vehicle and severely injured. At 4:45 AM on Sunday morning, she was euthanized at a veterinary clinic in Bozeman, Montana, ending the twelve year life of the most famous bear in Yellowstone
